Justin Thomas, dad Mike, win PNC Championship; Charlie Woods shines in debut

Charlie Woods carried his 15-time major champion father at times and stole the show this weekend at the PNC Championship, but it was his faux foe Justin Thomas who claimed the trophy.

The 13-time winner on the PGA Tour won alongside his father and coach, Mike, at 25 under on Sunday afternoon after a final-round 15-under 57. Team Thomas, who won in their event debut, birdied the first seven holes at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Grande Lakes on Sunday. In fact, they made 15 birdies and three pars, all on par-3s.

Team Singh needed an eagle on the 18th hole but came up short, finishing second at 24 under. Team O’Meara finished T-3 at 23 under alongside Team Trevino. Team Kite finished fifth at 22 under.

For Team Woods (7th, 20 under), the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Tiger’s 11-year-old son can fist-pump and hit clutch shots just like his old man. He even chirps like him, too.
